Getting started with the Ringtone Converter.

We assume,  as you have this help file,  you have already downloaded and installed the Ringtone Converter.

If you have a shareware version of the Ringtone Converter,  the first screen you will see when you start the software will look something like...

Click on the 'Ok' button to continue in trial mode,  or if you have a registration key,  click on the 'Enter Key' button to register your copy of the software.

You will then be shown a loading page,  followed by the main software page which looks something like this...

Select a phone

On this screen,  first select a phone.

The drop down list contains all the major makes of phone,  such as Nokia or Motorola etc.  Choose the manufacturer of your phone from this list.

Now,  select a phone model.  The available models will be displayed based on the manufacturer you have selected.

If your phone is not listed,  select a similar model number,  or scroll through the phone list to see if there is a picture of a phone similar to your handset.

Hopefully at this point,  you now have a picture of your phone showing in the Ringtone Converter.

Select a ringtone

The next step is to select a ringtone.

Like the selection of the phone,  first choose a category,  then a ringtone from that category.  The Ringtone Converter has over 100 sample tones included to get you started.

Your display should now look something like this...

Now,  click the 'PLAY' button located in the bottom right on the large white box.  This will plat the ringtone you have selected to give you a preview before you load it onto your phone.

Convert the Ringtone

The final step is to convert the RTTTL ringtone you have (in our case Baa Baa Black Sheep) into a set of instructions so you can add it to your phone.

Click the long button,  located below the large white box to convert the tone.

The Ringtone Converter will then show you another screen,  with detailed instructions on how to add the ringtone to your phone,  in most cases without using cables,  or premium rate sms services!
